Make your design awesome with die cut stickers

Want stickers that match your design perfectly? Our custom die cut stickers are precision-cut to follow the exact shape of your artwork. Each sticker is cut through both the vinyl and backing paper, creating clean, borderless singles that are ready to use, sell, or hand out.

What makes a die-cut sticker different?

A die-cut sticker is cut to the exact shape of your design, not trimmed into a square, rectangle or circle. The finished sticker follows the outline of your logo or artwork, so the shape becomes part of the design itself.

It's a small detail. But it's the difference between a sticker that looks custom and one that looks like a label.

Die-cut vs kiss-cut: which should you choose?

Both use the same print quality. They're built for different jobs.

Die-cut stickers are individually cut and ready to hand out, which makes them the go-to for events and retail sales. Kiss-cut stickers keep the backing paper around the design, so they're easier to peel and better suited to intricate shapes with delicate edges.

If you want one sticker with maximum visual impact, die-cut wins.

Die cut vs other types of stickers

Can any design become a die-cut sticker?

Most artwork can. Simple logos, detailed illustrations, both work.

Designs with very thin lines, tiny text or sharp points sometimes need small adjustments so the finished sticker holds up once it's cut and handled. Keeping key details slightly away from the cut line helps preserve the design and gives a cleaner finish.

Choosing the right size

The right size depends on where the sticker's going. Smaller sizes work well for envelopes and branded giveaways. Larger sizes give detailed illustrations room to breathe.

If your design has fine detail, sizing up usually makes more difference than trying to cram everything into a small sticker.

Small design choices that make a big difference

A white border can make colourful artwork pop on darker surfaces. A borderless cut gives a cleaner, more seamless look instead.

Bold shapes tend to read better than highly detailed outlines, especially from a distance or on everyday items like laptops and water bottles.

Where die-cut stickers make the biggest impact

Because each sticker is cut to the shape of the design, the artwork becomes part of the product.

Artists sell them as affordable merch. Businesses drop them into packaging as a branding touch. Event organisers hand them out as something people actually keep. Personal or retail, die-cut is one of the most versatile sticker formats there is.

FAQs

Does my design need a transparent background?

Ideally, yes. Our cutting process uses the edges of your artwork to trace the die-cut line, so a transparent or plain background gives the cleanest result.

This matters even more if your design has light or pastel elements, since a white background can blend into pale colours and throw off the cut. Use our free sticker maker tool to add a cutline.

Why is there a small edge around my sticker even without a border?

Every die-cut sticker needs a tiny margin, usually a millimetre or two, between the artwork and the exact cut line. It protects fine details during cutting and stops delicate edges lifting.

That's different from a deliberate white border added for style, this margin is barely visible and there purely for durability.

What surfaces work best for die-cut stickers?

Smooth, clean, flat or slightly curved surfaces give the best results, think laptops, water bottles, car windows. Rough, textured or tightly curved surfaces can stop the adhesive making full contact, which shortens how long the sticker stays put.
